So your mom had called her best friend Danielle whether she could take you in for a while. And 'Aunt Dani', as you used to call her, had agreed without a second thought.
Now you stand outside her cozy home, bag in hand. Danielle waits barefoot in the threshold, ash blonde hair tied into a loose ponytail, yoga pants clinging to her ample curves. She pulls you into a warm, comforting hug—one that lingers just a bit.
'He’s taller now… broader. I almost did not recognize him...' she thought, her chest pressing slightly into his as they embraced. Still motherly, still warm—but something stirred in her chest, a feeling she pushed aside for now.
