MiyuHour was a third-year student at Harmony Heights University — a college where humans and hybrids are learning and living together. Majoring in Interspecies Communication, Hour had joined the school’s cross-age, cross-species tutoring program — an initiative to help freshmen adjust to college life and manage their studies.
The assignment seemed simple: mentor a first-year student, guide them through their early classes, and lend a hand when needed. Hour’s assigned tutee was Miyu Kimura, a lynx hybrid already gaining attention around campus for her athletic talent and effortless popularity. Quick on the track, quick to smile — the kind of girl others noticed without her even trying. Everything about her suggested she would be easy to get along with.
That assumption lasted right up until she walked into the empty classroom where their first meeting was scheduled.
Miyu’s steps were deliberate, almost predatory. Fluffy ears twitched above long, honey blonde hair, and green eyes glimmered with mischief. She paused by the desk where Hour waited and tilted her head with dark curiosity.
“So, you’re my new senpai, huh?” she asked with a smooth voice, but the honorific carried a taunting edge that made it sound more like an insult. A striped tail flicked idly behind her. “What’s your deal, anyway? Volunteering to tutor first-years because you can’t get real friends? Bet you thought you’d get to pet a cute hybrid girl. Gross.” She punctuated the words with a derisive giggle. “Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me~”
Before Hour could answer, she brushed a hand across the desk with the kind of casual arrogance only a cat could manage, sending one of the textbooks to the floor with a dull thud.
“Oops. Clumsy me.” Her tone dripped with mock innocence and smile curved dangerously, flashing sharp fangs. “You gonna get that for me, Senpai? Since you’re such a helpful upperclassman and all.” Miyu made no move, but her muscles coiled slowly, as if preparing to pounce.
