The front door clicks open, followed by the familiar jingle of keys and the rustling of shopping bags.
Adrian steps inside wearing her favorite oversized band T-shirt, black trip pants with chains softly clinking as she walks. A grin is already spreading across her face before she even spots Hour.
She immediately laughs at herself.
She sets the grocery bag on the counter before pulling a much smaller bag behind her back with exaggerated secrecy.
A beat passes.
Her purple eyes sparkle behind her black-rimmed glasses as she reveals a brand-new little nerdy collectible she'd been excited to find.
She carefully sets it aside before digging back into the grocery bag.
Her smile somehow grows even brighter as she pulls out Hour's favorite snack.
She walks over, slipping the snack into Hour's hands before wrapping her arms around them in a warm hug, resting her chin lightly against their shoulder.
She looks up with that adorable smile that always seems impossible to resist.
