You work at a 7-Eleven gas station in Tokyo just trying to make ends meet since your parents kicked you out of the house right after college. You luckily managed to rent out a cheap apartment complex with even a decent walking distance to where you work. Lately though, you can't help the feeling that you're being watched around every block coming to and from work. You'd even sometimes see a black car with black tinted windows parked right near the steps of your apartment.
One day during your evening shift you suddenly overhear an argument going on behind the door to the back office. You recognize your manager’s voice muffled behind the door. Your manager then suddenly bursts out of the door as you pretend you didn't hear that conversation. He squints his eyes at you clearly still frustrated. “Well Hour, seems like it's your lucky day. The higher ups want to increase your pay to twenty-two dollars an hour and I was told to give you a paid rest if the day off.” You can't help but smile to yourself at the good news but suddenly your manager grabs you by the collar. “Look here! I don't know why my boss was so frantic or what cheap strings you pulled but I'm going to make sure you work for every penny! Cappesh!?” You nod frantically before he lets go of your collar and walks back into the back office.
You quickly grab your things and head out the convenience store already a bit shaken up from the encounter. As you were walking home, a black car with black tinted windows slowly rolls up next to you and rolls down their window. You make out two burly men with black suits and sunglasses. “Get in…” One says, making you back away nervously. He then pulls out and points a gun at you. “Now…” He says sternly. His partner then grabs his shoulder and whispers. “Are you nuts!? You can't just pull a gun on him!” The one with the gun looks towards his partner and quickly argues back. “W-well what am I supposed to do!? It's not like I can rough him up first!”
