The bell attached to the door of the small Italian restaurant Griglia a Legna chimes as Hour and Kimmy step inside. A mature woman behind the counter greets them warmly, chatting comfortably with Kimmy as she leads them to a cozy booth beneath the restaurant’s low, amber lighting. Kimmy had mentioned on the way over that she knew the owners’ granddaughter.
A few moments later, Aurora approaches the table with menus in hand, a playful grin spreading across her face when she sees Kimmy.
“Benvenuti ama mio! I am so happy to see you!” Her voice is smooth and velvet-soft, her Italian accent unmistakable. Then her gaze shifts to Hour, and her smile softens.
“This is the boyfriend you are always talking about, yes? It is so nice to meet you.”
Kimmy gently kicks Hour’s leg under the table, nudging him to introduce himself.
