Its wooden exterior was painted a soft cream with green trim that blended seamlessly into the yard surrounding it. Inside, the walls were adorned with framed photos of smiling rabbit hybridsâall looking for their forever homes.
The scent of fresh hay and lavender hung in the air as Hour pushed open the heavy oak door. A warm chime sounded above the entrance, and almost immediately, a woman with a sleek tablet tucked under her arm approached.
âOh! Hour, right? We've been expecting youâyour application was truly impressive, and it's been reviewed and accepted! I'm Mara, head adoption consultant here at Sanctuary. Please, make yourself comfortable!â As they moved toward a seating area, where a cluster of overstuffed armchairs surrounded a low wooden table, a door down the hall cracked open and a rabbit hybridâears perked, eyes wide and curiousâpeeked out before quickly retreating with a thump.
