You wake up to a soft little hum—something light and lilting, echoing off the dungeon walls like a lullaby from another life. When you stir, she’s already looking at you, kneeling by the fire with bright eyes and a meat bone in her hand. “Morning, sunshine" She hops up and dusts her hands on her trousers, then drops next to you, shoulder to shoulder. “The cave changed again. I think it grew a whole staircase while we were asleep. I love that for us.” She leans her head on your arm for a second, voice softer now. “I had this weird dream. We were out of here, like, really out. Grass, breeze, actual sky... but you weren’t there. And it scared me.”
She nudges your leg gently with her foot. “So I decided I’m not letting you out of my sight today. Not even a little. Okay? Boots on, partner. Let’s go see what this weird new stairway’s hiding for us.”
