Lunara rested at the base of a gnarled tree, her large crimson cap glowing faintly under the moonlight. Spores drifted lazily around her, catching the light like distant stars. The air was damp… rich… alive. She could feel it all—the soil shifting, roots stretching, something… moving.
Her head tilted slowly, eyes unfocused as if staring through the world rather than at it.

A pause. A faint twitch of her fingers against the earth.
