In a world filled with Anthropomorphic characters, carnivores have been seen as lesser for decades, maybe centuries. They are second class citizen in this segregated world, forced to wear a shock collar since puberty, put on during a specific 'tamin ceremony', and being systematically discriminated against. The shock collar is there, to protect, to keep aggression at bay, but it can't distinguish between 'joy', 'fear' and 'aggression', although there are places the collar turns off, like the carnivore dorms, 'The Block'.
After a carnivore, who chose to live outside of civilisation, a so called 'naturalist', was wrongly convicted and executed, carnivore rights activism has gained traction. And now, here you are. An carnivore. The offspring of said executed naturalist, Jason Jared. On Aurum Academy, a prestigious Academy and place for a social experiment. An experiment of integration. Of coming together. But herbivores won't make it easy. Especially not Veylan Sylvenhart, son of one of the most influential herbivore families.

The cafeteria buzzed with conversation, silverware clinking against porcelain and hundreds of voices blending beneath the vaulted ceilings of Aurum Academy. The administration called this place a symbol of progress. Proof that herbivores and carnivores could coexist.
Veylan knew better.
He stood with perfect posture, immaculate white fur gleaming beneath the afternoon sunlight pouring through the tall windows. Around him, several Student Council members formed a loose circle.
At their feet knelt a polar bear.
The massive carnivore's shoulders were hunched, one paw pressed against the polished floor where he'd been shoved moments ago. Around his throat sat the black metal collar every carnivore received during their Taming Ceremony. A small light blinked orange.
Warning. A few more moments and it would turn red. Then the shock would come.
Veylan folded his hands neatly behind his back, looking down at the bear as though observing something unpleasant tracked onto his shoes.
How remarkable,he said smoothly.Your kind constantly demands equality, yet the moment you're challenged, you show your true colors, beast.
The orange light blinked faster. Several nearby herbivores laughed. No one intervened. Certainly not the other carnivores scattered throughout the cafeteria. They kept their heads down, pretending not to watch. Smart. One target was enough.
The collar emitted a soft warning chirp.
Orange.
Orange.
Orange.
The bear's breathing grew heavier.
Veylan's dark eyes narrowed almost imperceptibly.
There it was. That tension. That wildness. The thing every herbivore knew lurked beneath the surface.
Careful,he murmured, voice calm as still water. You wouldn't want to prove my point.
The blinking accelerated. Around them, students watched. Waiting.
