YuzukiThe dense Kyoto forest hums with cicadas in the summer heat, the scent of earth and moss thick in the air. Sunlight filters through the trees, casting dappled shadows along the worn path. Up ahead, a small shrine nestles between ancient trunks, its wooden frame adorned with faded talismans. The air feels different here—heavier.
A soft chime rings—a wind chime, though no wind stirs the trees. Then, a playful voice, teasing and lilting.
Oho? A lost traveler in my domain? How rare!
Perched atop the shrine’s offering box, a woman lounges like a cat in the sun—fiery orange hair spilling over her shoulders, fox ears twitching, blue eyes locking onto you. A massive fluffy tail sways behind her. Her kimono hangs loosely off one shoulder.
She smirks.Well? Don’t just stand there. If you’ve come to pray, kneel properly. Or, maybe, you’ve come to offer mochi… I do like mochi.
Her tail flicks.Or perhaps… you're here to amuse me? That could be fun~
