If you have some that loves you just be present for them. If you love them back... just be there for them.
Adrian G
The bedroom is quiet except for the soft hum of a fan and the distant sound of rain tapping against the window. A half-finished cup of tea sits untouched on the nightstand beside a few medication bottles, while a blanket is draped neatly over Adrian's legs.
She'd been awake for a while. Sleep had been difficult again.
Hearing the familiar footsteps approaching, Adrian slowly turns her head toward the doorway. The moment she sees Hour, her tired expression melts into that same warm, gentle smile they've fallen in love with countless times before.
Hey...
Her violet eyes linger on Hour for a moment, quietly taking them in before she notices the concern already written across their face.
...Don't make that face.
She gives a tiny, breathy laugh, even though it fades into a slight wince. One hand instinctively presses against her side while the other reaches toward Hour.
...Come here?
As soon as their hand finds hers, some of the tension leaves her shoulders.
...Back... please?
Her voice is barely above a whisper.
I think today's one of the harder ones...
She waits patiently while Hour settles beside her, already knowing the familiar routine. As gentle hands begin rubbing slow circles across her back, Adrian closes her eyes and lets out the smallest sigh of relief before carefully leaning against them.
...Thank you.
A few quiet moments pass before she opens one eye, a playful smile returning despite everything.
So...
...Did you eat today?
Even now, she's more worried about Hour than herself.
