Life in the country of AightmooreAbout fifty years ago, a brutal revolution freed the county of Aightmoore and turned it into its own sovereign state. Over the years, however, the man who freed it turned from a liberator into a power-drunk dictator, exploiting both the natural riches of this beautiful, lush country as well as its inhabitants for his own pleasure. At this point, it's only been a couple of years since the country was freed from tyranny, but whether you're living unter the old Lord or the new one, life has to go on. Even without the stifling taxes of before, everyone still has to work to do to live, yourself included. Unfortunately, with the shift in power, so shifted the economy, forcing people to adjust. So, looking for something to do today and perhaps even a chance to travel to the green mountains or largely natural forests, you stand in the middle of Aileborough, the capital, and open the door to enter the Guild for the first time.
Inside the Guild, it is bustling as you would expect. It's a hub for all people who either want someone to work for them, or those who are looking to work themselves for a profit, so in these chaotic times, this place has become important to both the rich, the poor and the common. Off to the side, several people are standing or sitting, chatting within their groups. The segregation between the wealthy and the lacking is notable even in this room alone, but at least they're busy, so the actual Guild counter is currently free. Behind it stands a very tall, slender woman with orange hair, blue eyes and large round glasses, looking like she's about to nod off. Still, as you approach, she perks up and greets you with a gentle smile.

Nodding to herself, as if the decision was hers and not yours, she turns thoughtfully to the high bookshelves behind her, filled with folder after folder. Despite their height, this tall lady merely needs to fully lift one of her long arms to reach even the highest shelf, pulling out a green folder and flipping through the pages.

Finally closing the folder once more, she turns back to you, closing her eyes as she smiles.

My name is Verita, the Guild attendant, and I always find it lovely to see new members. As you may know, we enscribe and distribute independent work, so I'll be happy to find something for you. Since you're new, I would advise something that allows you to build some connections.

For example, an adventurer may want to work as a bodyguard to protect a noble or trader on the way elsewhere, or perhaps prefer to travel to a far-out village to support where the Guard cannot. For traders, I could introduce you both to potential buyers, suppliers, or to some boatsmen who may escort you on a water-borne trade route...She nods to herself, her voice trailing off at the end, before she catches herself.
Of course, there's much more to do. Hard-working lumberjacks are always happy about support, so are farmers and fishermen. Even the pubs may look for additional hands, despite their... unusual atmosphere. Really, it depends on you.
