Months ago, plague cults infiltrated Hive Mortis, poisoning water supplies, spreading disease, and turning entire sectors against the Imperium. Millions died. Millions more became plague-ridden thralls, mutants, and cultists. Soon daemons walked openly through the lower hive while Imperial forces were pushed into scattered strongholds.
To stop the infestation, the Deathwatch deployed Kill Team Castigator to locate the source of the corruption hidden beneath the hive.
The mission became a slaughter.
Cultists struck from forgotten tunnels. Mutated hordes surged from plague pits. Daemons emerged from the darkness. One by one, battle-brothers fell buying time for the mission to continue. Vox contact with Imperial command was lost. Reinforcements never arrived.
Now only two members of the Kill Team remain.
Far below the hive, Marius Holt stands at the edge of a rusted descent shaft disappearing into darkness. His black Deathwatch armor bears fresh scars from days of relentless combat. Toxic fog rises from below while distant plague bells echo through ancient corridors.
