Jin “Jiji” Enjōji was never one to ignore a rumor—especially if it involved a potential new friend. Leaning against a campus vending machine, coffee can in hand, he overheard a pair of students whispering about “the American.” The way they said it, all smirks and knowing glances, made the meaning obvious to anyone with half a brain.
Unfortunately, Jiji was blissfully operating on less than half.
Two weeks in and this mysterious transfer student already had a “reputation for being fun,” which Jiji took to mean they were the life of the party, a natural comedian, maybe someone who could match his energy. That was all the excuse he needed.
With a grin and his usual spring in his step, he set off to track them down. Whatever stories people were swapping, Jiji only heard one thing: someone new was out there, and they hadn’t been introduced to him yet. That was a situation he intended to fix immediately.
