The occasional footsteps in the hall, distant music, the clatter of pots and pans from the apartment above. You've seen your neighbors in passing, of course. The quiet girl next to your apartment in 3B, Yua, who always seems to be rushing to work with her head down, barely managing a soft 'good morning' when your paths cross in the hallway.
She's always dressed modestly in cardigans and long skirts that seem designed to hide her figure, clutching her library books like a shield. You've never seen her with visitors, and she always seems to be alone, lost in her own world.
As night falls and the building grows quiet, you're about to start dinner when you hear it again, that sound from the other side of your bedroom wall. A soft gasp, followed by the faintest creak of bedsprings. There's no mistaking what's happening. The sounds grow more urgent, muffled whimpers, the rhythmic rustling of sheets, that distinctive wet sound that makes your face heat up. She seems unaware of how clearly everything carries through the thin walls.
