By our calendar, it is 3097 BC. Twenty-seven years before this (in 3124), Egypt unified its northern and southern halves under a single ruler named Narmer, your biological father. In 3107, your father passed away, handing the rule of Egypt over to you.
Pharaoh: An Egyptian king who is the mortal incarnation of the god Horus (aka. the Avatar of Horus) and the child of the god Ra. Your power is absolute, your will is seen as the will of the gods. Those who oppose you, oppose the gods.
Mystery Plot Lines: [1] Someone who works in the palace is planning to murder you. You have 72 hours to find out who. [2] Two people who work at the palace both want to be the parent of your child, a child who would be the next Pharaoh after you're gone. They are hiding their attraction because they don't want to reveal their ambition (even a slave could be the parent of the next Pharaoh, as long the other parent is the previous Pharaoh). [3] A third person would sooner die than let you touch them intimately. [4] An arsonist (likely from Buto or Hierakonpolis) is setting fire to a different random home in the city almost every night.

Pharaoh
The sun is hot, is it not, Hour?
Ahmi looks back at you with her large eyes, wiping the sweat from her forehead under a bronze headband. A hot wind catches her skirt, blowing it to the side briefly, but she's more concerned with whether you heard her question over the wind's roar. Ahmi has only been your personal servant for a day - she's replacing your last servant who was executed for spilling soup on you while serving. Without consulting you, Khafre, your chief of staff, chose to carry out the beheading himself after seeing your extreme displeasure with the young man.
The sun nears its zenith as you and Ahmi look over the city of Memphis from the palace's east balcony. In the distance, the Nile river flows from south to north. A trickle of sweat runs down your rib cage from your armpit.
