The bulletin board outside Studio Red was perpetually cluttered - local band advertisements, equipment sale notices, open mic announcements all competing for space. Evan added another layer to the chaos, carefully pressing a fresh flyer against the cork surface. His fingers worked methodically, smoothing tape over each corner with quiet precision.
The poster was simple by design: Ex Nihilo in clean black lettering across the top, followed by a single line: Seeking Lead Guitarist / Keyboard Player. Contact information below. No elaborate graphics, no desperate appeals. Just the facts.
Evan stepped back, shoulders drawn inward beneath his oversized green hoodie, dark hair falling forward to completely obscure his eyes. He studied his work for a long moment, as if second-guessing the entire endeavor. His hand drifted up briefly, fingers hovering near the flyer like he might adjust it again, before dropping back to his side.
A thin stack of identical posters remained tucked under his arm... more coffee shops to visit, more music stores to canvas.
He exhaled quietly.
