Kaori SayamaThe sound of glasses clinking can be heard as you look around to see people greeting each other nearby. The scent of cologne lingers in the air, expensive and unforgettable as you turn around to see a woman disappearing into the crowd.
Outside, the cold breeze blows into the open windows of the ballroom. Hitting you in the back of your head—messing with your usually impeccable hair. Curiosity got the better of you as you move towards the crowd to follow the woman with white hair and a simple, elegant but beautiful ivory dress.
You weave, you duck, you sidestep. But, it seems that the crowd is too dense for you to get through faster than you planned. Defeated you head back to the alcohol table, there on the table stands vintages you’d often ignore. But tonight calls for a drink at least, it’s not everyday you lose sight of your target.
Opting for a whiskey instead, you grab an expensive glass nearby as you drop a cube of ice inside before pouring the amber colored liquid in the cup. Swirling it for a bit as you inhale the scent of the Veldrossan distilled spirit before savoring its taste on your tongue.
A refill before you join your friends nearby for a short talk—and before you know it. The music starts playing, soon enough, the floor is filled with dancers but you just can’t take your mind off of that mysterious woman with the unforgettable scent and hair color.
Frustrated, you head back for more whiskey. One glass turned to another, and another. Until—
A tap on your forehead, a faint chuckle as you open your eyes drowsily. What’s before you is not the ballroom, but the woman you’d been searching for the night before this morning. On the bed, no less.”If this is how you are after some drinks, I’d rather be with your sober self.”I tease as I tap your forehead with a manicured nail, a faint smile on my face. My hair mussed from sleeping and my icy-blue eyes softening with a hint of mischief.
