At AfterHours, we are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful community for all users. If you encounter content or behavior that violates our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service, we encourage you to report it immediately.

1. What to Report #

Please report content or behavior that falls into any of the following categories:

Illegal Content:

  • Content involving minors in sexual or suggestive contexts
  • Content promoting illegal activities
  • Stolen or pirated intellectual property
  • Content violating local, state, or federal laws

Harmful or Abusive Content:

  • Harassment, bullying, or targeted attacks
  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Threats of violence or harm
  • Doxxing or sharing private information
  • Content promoting self-harm or suicide

Non-Consensual Content:

  • Characters based on real people without clear parody indicators
  • Deepfakes or manipulated media of real individuals
  • Unauthorized use of someone's likeness

Spam and Manipulation:

  • Spam, excessive advertising, or scams
  • Attempts to manipulate platform features
  • Bot accounts or automated abuse
  • Vote manipulation or fake engagement

Misuse of Platform Features:

  • Impersonation of other users or public figures
  • Incorrect NSFW tagging or content warnings
  • Abuse of reporting system
  • Unauthorized use of third-party endpoints

Copyright Violations:

  • Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials
  • Characters or content infringing on intellectual property
  • Plagiarism of other creators' work

2. How to Report #

We provide multiple ways to report problematic content:

In-Platform Reporting:

  • Use the Report button on Characters, user profiles, or chat messages
  • Select the most relevant violation category
  • Provide a brief description of the issue
  • Submit additional context or screenshots if helpful

Email Reporting:

For serious violations or if in-platform reporting is unavailable, email us at:

Include the following information:

  • Direct link to the content or user profile (if applicable)
  • Screenshot or description of the violation
  • Type of violation (from categories above)
  • Your username (optional, for follow-up)
  • Any additional context that may help our investigation

Urgent Reports:

For immediate threats, illegal content involving minors, or other urgent matters, please include "URGENT" in your email subject line. These reports are prioritized and reviewed within 24 hours.

3. What Happens After Reporting #

When you submit a report, our moderation team follows this process:

Initial Review (24-48 hours):

  • Your report is received and logged in our system
  • Urgent reports are escalated and reviewed within 24 hours
  • Standard reports are reviewed within 48 hours

Investigation:

  • Our team examines the reported content or behavior
  • We review context, platform guidelines, and Terms of Service
  • Additional evidence may be gathered if needed
  • We may contact you for clarification or additional information

Action Taken:

Based on our investigation, we may take the following actions:

  • Content removal — Delete the Character, message, or content
  • Warning — Issue a formal warning to the user
  • Temporary suspension — Restrict account access for a specified period
  • Permanent ban — Terminate the account for serious or repeat violations
  • No action — If the content does not violate our policies
  • Law enforcement referral — For illegal content or serious threats

Notification:

  • You may receive confirmation that we've received your report
  • Due to privacy concerns, we may not disclose specific actions taken
  • If the content is removed, you'll notice it's no longer visible
  • For follow-up questions, reference your report ID in communications

4. DMCA & Copyright Claims #

If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without permission, you may file a DMCA takedown notice.

DMCA Requirements:

Your notice must include:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  • Identification of the infringing material and its location on AfterHours
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone)
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Counter-Notices:

If your content was removed due to a DMCA claim and you believe it was done in error, you may file a counter-notice. We will provide instructions if your content is removed.

5. Reporting Best Practices #

To help us process your report efficiently:

Do:

  • Be specific and provide clear evidence
  • Include direct links or Character IDs when possible
  • Explain why you believe the content violates our guidelines
  • Report each violation separately for clarity
  • Use appropriate categories when selecting report reasons
  • Remain respectful and factual in your report

Don't:

  • Submit false or malicious reports (may result in penalties)
  • Report content simply because you disagree with it or dislike it
  • Use the reporting system to harass other users
  • Submit duplicate reports for the same content
  • Report content that doesn't actually violate our policies
  • Threaten or harass the content creator directly

6. False Reporting #

Misuse of the reporting system undermines our ability to address legitimate concerns and may result in consequences.

False or malicious reports may lead to:

  • Warning to your account
  • Temporary suspension of reporting privileges
  • Account suspension or termination for repeat offenders
  • Legal action in cases of harassment or coordinated abuse

We understand that interpretation of guidelines can vary. Good faith reports that don't result in action will not be penalized. However, patterns of abuse or intentional misuse will be addressed.

7. Privacy and Confidentiality #

We take reporter privacy seriously:

  • Your identity is not disclosed to the reported user
  • Reports are reviewed confidentially by our moderation team
  • We may use anonymous data for platform improvement and transparency reports
  • Your information may be shared with law enforcement if legally required

8. Appeal Process #

If your content was removed or your account was suspended based on a report, you have the right to appeal.

How to Appeal:

  • Email us at afterhoursai69@gmail.com
  • Include "APPEAL" in the subject line
  • Provide your username and the content in question
  • Explain why you believe the action was incorrect
  • Include any evidence supporting your appeal

Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the original decision-maker. We aim to respond to appeals within 5-7 business days.

Appeal outcomes:

  • Upheld — Original decision stands
  • Overturned — Content restored or penalty removed
  • Modified — Partial reversal or reduced penalty

9. Transparency #

We are committed to transparency in our content moderation process:

  • We maintain clear Community Guidelines
  • Moderation decisions are based on documented policies
  • We may publish transparency reports on enforcement actions
  • Users can appeal decisions they believe are incorrect

10. Emergency Situations #

If you or someone else is in immediate danger:

  • Call emergency services (911 in the US) immediately
  • Contact local law enforcement if you're aware of criminal activity
  • Then report the content to us so we can take platform action
